The increase in prices for summer tires this spring could be up to 50%, according to the vice-president of the National Automobile Union Jan Haytseer. According to him, the rise in price can already be seen, but so far not so significant.
Heitzeher explained that the rise in prices is due to the restrictions of Western countries and the withdrawal of foreign firms from Russia. Some materials for the manufacture of tires, in particular premium class, simply do not exist in Russia, the auto expert added.

“We cannot provide ourselves with premium wheels. Presumably, prices for a more mass segment have risen by 20-30%. Chinese manufacturers are partially leveling the situation. It can be assumed that there will be a price increase of 20-30% for the changed conditions, somewhere up to 50% will certainly do,” Heitzeer warned.
At the same time, he recommends that motorists postpone the change of winter tires to summer tires until a stable positive temperature sets in.
