The ambassadors of the countries of the European Union on March 8 approved the allocation of 2 billion euros to the European Peace Fund. About it reported on Twitter the Swedish representation in the European Council.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak recalled that the money was allocated for a fund that finances the supply of weapons for the Ukrainian army.
On March 8, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, at an informal summit of EU defense ministers in Stockholm, said he was ready to allocate 2 billion euros to increase the production and supply of ammunition to Ukraine.
“We need to deliver more and faster,” he added.
The pre-agreed 2 billion euros will enable member states to provide 1 billion of the remaining stocks of ammunition and place orders for 1 billion euros, Borrell continued.
“As soon as we determine the total amount, it will be negotiations between 15 European firms that can produce weapons. I hope that by the end of March we will agree,” the European diplomat concluded.
