The car in which the soldier was traveling was stopped by the National Police officers for violating traffic rules. As a result, the driver of the car, who already had 24 fines, did not show the driver’s license to the police, and the man in military uniform demanded to call the operatives.
On Tuesday, March 7, at the entrance to Kyiv there was a conflict between the National Police and a man in military uniform. The corresponding video was published by the Real Kyiv Telegram channel.
In the first video, an officer of the National Police pushes a man in the uniform of a fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the chest.
“Don’t jump on me. Keep your distance,” the policeman says to the military.
The subscriber, who anonymously sent these video frames to the media, claims that a man in military uniform has just arrived from one of the most “hot” spots on the map of Ukraine – Bakhmut.
The second video posted by the Telegram channel was filmed with a police officer’s chest camera.
These shots show how the National Police officers at the checkpoint stop a car. The reason for the stop, according to the police, is that the driver changed lanes without turning on the turning lights. Also, the driver of the car, who turned out to be a man dressed in a blue jacket, did not fasten his seat belt.
Conflict at the checkpoint: the position of the police
The National Police officers explained to the man the reason for the stop and asked him to show the documents for the car, driver’s license, and passport. The driver of the passenger car, in turn, for a long time refused to obey the demands of the police.
At first, he asked several times about the reason for the stop, although the police had already explained this to him. Then the man wanted to get acquainted with the documents of law enforcement officers. After that, he stated that he only had a passport with him in the Diya electronic application.
After the police identified the driver of the car, it turned out that the man already had 24 fines for violating traffic rules.
At the same time, he continued to speak rudely with the authorities: he called the police “boys”, addressed them as “you” and argued that fines for traffic violations exist only in order to “feed” the police.
When the man opened the trunk of the car, there was a camouflage bag in it. An employee of the National Police asked the owner of the things to come up and show the contents of the bag and several paper bags. It turned out that all these things belonged to a man in military uniform. He refused to show the bag for inspection. The military also demanded that operatives be called to the checkpoint.
In addition, he came close to the policeman and said: “If I don’t have a weapon now, do you think that you can talk to me like that?”
After that, the National Police officer pushed him away and asked him to keep his distance.
The policeman pushed the military: the reaction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
In turn, one of the employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after watching the video, concluded that the law was violated by representatives of the National Police. According to him, they were rude to a man in military uniform, who “was not afraid to go to the front with a weapon in his hands.”
At the same time, the military admitted that the man in the video footage may have violated traffic rules and the administrative code. However, this could serve as an excuse for the police to “treat him disrespectfully.”
Recall that on February 14 in Odessa, the military firmly laid a man on the ground. The incident occurred near the Privoz market, they tried to seize the man by the arms and legs. Eyewitnesses claim that this was the “mobilization process”, but there is a version about a fight with a homeless person.
Focus also wrote that in August 2021, the police started a fight near Kiev. Two police officers decided to sort things out with the use of physical force, and their colleagues in the service watched the fight of the cops near the patrol car.
