The head of Wagner PMC claims to recruit an average of 500 to 800 people a day, and sometimes up to 1,200.
The Russian mercenary group Wagner plans to recruit about 30,000 new fighters by mid-May. About this writes Reuters with reference to the founder of PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin.
In an audio message on Telegram, Prigozhin said PMC Wagner recruiting centers, which he said opened last week in 42 Russian cities, are recruiting an average of 500-800 people a day.
“It is possible that after some time this number of recruits may decrease. However, by mid-May, we plan that the number of fighters will increase by about 30,000 people,” Prigozhin said.

The head of the “Wagnerites” claims that the recruitment is going “better than he expected” and that the volunteers are in better physical shape than the prisoners Prigozhin recruited into his PMC before.
It is noted, however, that Prigozhin did not provide any evidence to support his statements.
The fact that the Wagner group is looking for tens of thousands of new fighters suggests that it suffered heavy losses during the war on the territory of Ukraine. Leading the Russian effort to capture Bakhmut, which has been at the center of the longest and bloodiest battle of the war since last summer, Wagner PMC militants are suffering heavy losses.
PMC “Wagner” is known for its harsh and brutal tactics, as well as the fact that he cares little about the lives of his fighters. Lieutenant General Mark Hertling described her tactics in eastern Ukraine as “feeding meat to a meat grinder.”
Recall that Russia is tightening the punishment for discrediting the army. The law will protect from criticism not only regular military and mobilized, but also “volunteers” and mercenaries of PMC “Wagner”, who help to wage war in Ukraine.
Focus also wrote that the offensive potential of the “Wagnerites” near Bakhmut had decreased, the PMC offensive seemed to be approaching its climax.
