The head of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, assures that the Chinese-made drone was bought in the United States and delivered to Ukraine, and then sent to the saboteur in Belarus.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko commented on the attack of drones at the Machulishchi airfield. He explained the reason for the successful strike during the state awards ceremony on March 7, the Belta news agency reports.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusian security forces detained a “terrorist” and several of his accomplices, who, on the orders of the Ukrainian special services, organized an attack in Machulishchi. The drones were able to fly to the airfield and blow up the A-50 military aircraft due to their small size. Two Chinese UAVs were bought in the United States and then transferred to Ukraine.
“If they had used a large one, then our tracking systems would have tracked it, of course. In Ukraine, these two drones were involved, this person and others who helped him were trained,” Alexander Lukashenko said, promising to soon reveal more details about what happened.
The President of Belarus added that in 2014 the SBU recruited a Russian with Russian and Ukrainian passports, well versed in modern technologies, and then, with the support of the CIA, the United States trained him to commit sabotage on the territory of Belarus. The man is allegedly a native of Krivoy Rog and lived in the Crimea, while his relatives are in Kyiv and Austria.
According to Lukashenka, a complex special operation was carried out at the airfield in Machulishchi, using “the highest technologies.” Despite this, the plane allegedly suffered almost no damage – it only received a few scratches and a hole in the hull, which do not affect its performance.
On February 26, two explosions occurred at the airfield in Machulishchi in Belarus. According to the BYPOL project, as a result of the attack, the A-50 early warning aircraft received significant damage to the hull, avionics, and antenna. Later, Belarusian partisans reported that two kamikaze drones had attacked the Machulishchi.
