The police did not expect that they would have to chase the police same Land Cruiser. And then also save the hijacker.
This is exactly the story that happened in Atlanta, and it ended with the fact that the police pulled the suspect from the wrecked Cruiser moments before the car rammed the freight train – this is clearly visible on the cameras.
Michal Parker, 29, stole a police car while the officer was talking to a motorist. He left the car unlocked.
The officer immediately called the police, telling the dispatcher in which direction the SUV was moving.
The police outfit left on time – by that time the SUV turned over on the railway tracks and partially rolled onto one of the rails. The police quickly pulled Parker out of the car – literally a second before the train crashed into the car.
The hijacker was arrested and placed in the Fulton County Jail. He faces charges of car theft, running away, evading justice, dangerous driving and damaging city property.
