It is expected that by the end of spring 2023, the hybrid Chery Tiggo 8 Pro E + will be released in Russia, this will be the flagship modification in the Tiggo 8 model line.
According to preliminary data, the rechargeable hybrid Tiggo 8 Pro E + will receive a power plant with a turbo engine (1.5 l) and two electric motors, with a total capacity of 326 hp and 565 Hm. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is expected to be around 1 liter per 100 km, and in purely electric mode, the crossover should travel about 100 km.
By the way, this is only preliminary data, the Russian representative office has not yet named official characteristics. Prices and configurations are not yet known either, but in any case, the Tiggo 8 Pro E + will be the most expensive version of the model. Prices, according to our forecast, will start from 4,000,000 rubles.
The exterior design of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro E+ 2023 plug-in hybrid will be similar to the all-wheel drive version of the Tiggo 8 Pro MAX, with the exception of the exhaust pipes and the socket hatch on the front fender, as well as the nameplate on the fifth door – Tiggo 8 Pro E+.

In May 2022, the Chinese company Chery presented the new Tiggo 8 Pro, which was presented on advertising posters in two versions – a regular gasoline and a rechargeable hybrid.
Since that time, there was no news about the PHEV modification, until a crossover caught the eye of photo spies in China, which had a hatch in the front right wing, behind which a port was hidden for recharging the battery. There was no doubt – it was a hybrid Tiggo 8 Pro, but for some reason a part of the rear right wing was glued on it.
Experts who managed to connect two facts: a six-month delay in the release of an SUV with a PHEV transmission and a partially disguised rear right wing, this “puzzle” has developed into a very interesting conclusion.
Given that the tank neck on the Tiggo 8 Pro is on the left, only the charging port could be on the right. And here I immediately remembered the new Tiggo 7 Plus New Energy hybrid SUV, which was shown in August, and which had just such a “rear” location of the charging port.
This prompted the idea that both the “seven” and the “eight” may have the same transmissions, in addition, Tiggo 7, according to the developer, got a more advanced DP-i hybrid installation than the one that was originally planned for installation on Tiggo 8.
Thus, with a high degree of probability, the long delay in the market launch of the Tiggo 8 Pro in the PHEV version was due to the fact that the manufacturer decided to transfer the not yet released model to another transmission.
All that is known about it is that it is “more modern”, and most importantly, it supports fast charging. As for technical indicators, for now it remains to focus on the numbers that were announced by the Chinese back in 2021.
Then they reported that the hybrid Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV will have a one and a half liter petrol turbo engine with a capacity of 170 hp. With. (252 Nm) and an electrical installation that will bring the total torque to 510 Nm. Fuel consumption was declared at the level of 1.3 l/100 km.
External design
Chery’s flagship crossover with the Pro prefix differs from the usual “eight” and the Plus version in a more fashionable and even avant-garde exterior design.
Mainly due to the modified and enlarged radiator grille. But for PHEV, the Chinese, for sure, will prepare a separate variation of this most important and noticeable front end element. Also, optics with a different “stuffing” may appear, and the bumper will be decorated with a modified decor. The passport dimensions of such a car are 4745x1860x1745 mm. with a wheelbase of 2710 mm.
Salon
The interior design of the hybrid “eight” outwardly strongly resembles the interior of Chery Omoda 5. Here the design of the dashboard, central tunnel and steering wheel is the same, but there are noticeable differences: a different gearbox selector and a central screen slightly turned towards the driver, which is located under one glass with digital instrumentation. Also, the minimalism of equipping with physical buttons catches the eye – the interior design is extremely concise, but not without expensive finishing materials.
