Against the background of the collapsed almost 60% of the market for new passenger cars in the commercial segment, the results of 2022 are not so sad.
According to the Avtostat agency, 75.2 thousand LCVs were bought in Russia in 2022. This segment has the biggest drop, but it is less than that of cars, by 47.8%.
GAZ is in the lead, losing 41.4% in absolute sales, but increasing its market share by almost 5.5 percentage points.
UAZ’s sales are more modest, and the increase in the share is even higher – plus 5.7 p.p.
Ford stocks were enough not to fall out of the top three.
Lada from domestic brands has lost the most. Unlike GAZs and UAZs, the production of Largus is worth it. Dealers of European brands are selling off the leftovers, which are almost gone.
GAZelle still has no equal in the model standings.
Of the top ten places, only one is for a foreign car. But there will be no more Transits, their place in the statistics in 2023 will be taken by Sollers Atlant. Dongfeng Captain-T and Sollers Argo may well become new names in the list of the most sought after.
84.2 thousand pieces of medium and heavy trucks were distributed across the country (-15.6% by the end of 2021). The first invariably goes KAMAZ, which sank weaker than the market as a whole. Chinese brands prevented it from significantly increasing its share.
Shacman, who broke through to second place, quadrupled his “piece of the pie”, FAW and Howo tripled.
And the Sitrak brand, which was not on our market at all a year ago, sold almost 3.5 thousand cars. You have probably already seen them on the roads, just did not distinguish them from MAN TG trucks. Sytraks are their licensed copy. If the Chinese brand with its current result were put in the results table for 2021, it would take 9th place, right behind the real MAN, which sold 4.4 thousand trucks.
In the top 10 best-selling models, exactly half are representatives of China. An interesting point: KAMAZ models 5490 (generation K4) sold 3839 units, and Chinese tractors and dump trucks Sitrak C7H – 3462 copies.
KAMAZ has something to worry about. During the week of sales from February 6 to February 12, only the “Chinese” were in the top 3, and the Sitrak C7H took the lead. But the demand for KAMAZ trucks is huge: everything that the plant will produce will be sold out.
On this, the buses feel, one might say, great. A fall of only 7.2% – up to 12.9 thousand pieces.
