According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the opening of the front from Belarus is very dangerous for Ukraine, but Minsk is not yet ready to take such a step.
Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko is not succumbing to pressure from Russian President Vladimir Putin to enter the war against Ukraine. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with the RBC-Ukraine information portal, published on Friday, March 3.
“Despite the fact that Putin constantly wants him [Лукашенко] conditionally “rape” so that he makes certain decisions necessary for the Russian Federation, Lukashenka understands how this can all end. And that’s why I don’t think that Putin will be able to put the squeeze on him. I don’t even know what needs to happen for Putin to succeed,” Danilov said.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council is convinced that the Belarusians do not want to fight against the Ukrainians. This is appreciated in Kyiv and they do not plan military operations against Belarus.
“For us, this is a very dangerous situation, given that today we have a huge front line with the Russian Federation. I would separate the Belarusian people from the Belarusian authorities. Many Belarusians are fighting on our side and we are grateful to them for that,” Danilov summed up.
Recall that in the same interview for RBC-Ukraine, Alexey Danilov said that the losses of the Russians near Bakhmut were 7 times higher than the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Danilov also told reporters that Russia’s stockpiles of high-precision missiles had greatly decreased, so the Kremlin abandoned the idea of launching a massive rocket attack on Ukraine on the anniversary of the full-scale offensive on February 24.
