Tests were carried out, of course, not on the Moon, but the design does move.
Bloggers from the Garage 54 channel started another experiment. The idea was to make spherical “wheels” out of rebar. it was bent, cut into segments, strengthened the resulting structure, painted white and installed on the VAZ-2101 instead of conventional wheels.
Apparently, during the construction process, the similarity with the Soviet apparatus for exploring the moon became noticeable, so the tuning was supplemented with the inscriptions “Lunokhod” on the sides.
The tests were not without problems. In particular, the resulting structure was pulled into every snowdrift on the way, and snow was also packed into the front balls at low speed. But in the end, the experiment can be called successful, because this time nothing even fell off.
