According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the approach to resolving the issue needs to be changed, given the current events in Ukraine. Now the document says that it is necessary to de-occupy the peninsula through political and diplomatic means.
Taking into account all the events that are taking place on the territory of Ukraine, it is necessary to change the strategy for the de-occupation of Crimea. These changes must be voted on at a meeting of the National Security Council. This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov on the air of the national telethon.
According to him, on March 24, 2021, President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree “On the strategy for the de-occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.” The document stated that this issue should be resolved through political and diplomatic means.
However, as Danilov noted, taking into account all the circumstances that are taking place in Ukraine, it is necessary to review the strategy and make changes to it. After the NSDC vote, President Zelensky must either issue a new decree or make changes to the previously adopted strategy.
He also said that a large number of Ukrainian citizens who are now in the territory of the occupied Crimea will be happy to meet the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and some are even ready to help.
“There is nothing conspiratorial, we are working with the relevant documents so that they meet the interests of our country and meet the interests of the citizens of our state,” Danilov added.

Recall that earlier the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council wrote on his Twitter that it was time to revise the strategy for the liberation of the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula, since now the priorities are somewhat different. However, he did not elaborate on what exactly he was talking about.
In addition, Danilov explained why Kyiv does not break off diplomatic relations with Belarus. The Russians are doing everything so that the army of the Republic of Belarus invades Ukraine along with them. And Kyiv, according to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, is trying to prevent this operation and avoid “provocations.”
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council also told how Ukraine was preparing for a war with Russia. After the invasion, the Ukrainian military received a trophy card of the Pskov paratroopers with the issue date of February 20. These are issued the day before the onset.
