The defense forces, according to deputy intelligence chief Vadim Skibitsky, will try to “drive a wedge” into the Russian front line in the south – between Crimea and the Russian mainland.
Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitsky believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be ready for a counteroffensive in the spring. One of the strategic goals of the Ukrainian army will be the division of Russian troops between Crimea and the Russian mainland. This is written by the DW edition with reference to Skibitsky’s statement during an interview for the publications of the German media group Funke.
According to Skibitsky, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be ready for a counteroffensive this spring, but the start of this offensive depends on several factors, including the supply of weapons by the Western allies.
“I think that in the spring we will be ready to launch a counter-offensive,” the GUR spokesman said.
According to Skibitsky, one of the main strategic goals of this UAF counteroffensive will be to make an attempt “to drive a wedge into the Russian front in the south – between Crimea and the Russian mainland.”
Also, the deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate believes that the Ukrainian army will strike at weapons depots that are located directly on the territory of the Russian Federation. For example, this applies to warehouses located in the Belgorod region of Russia. According to Skibitsky, it is from here that attacks on Kharkov and other regions of Ukraine are carried out, which is a big threat.
Skibitsky called the liberation of all regions of Ukraine occupied by Russia, including the Crimean peninsula, the main goal of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate stated that the Ukrainian army would stop its advance only when all the territories of Ukraine within the 1991 borders were liberated.
We remind you that, according to the head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, the fighters of the Wagner PMC are fighting in Ukraine many times better than the rest of the Russian soldiers. It is the “Wagnerites” who are the only units that manage to move deep into the territory of Ukraine.
At the same time, according to Defense Express analyst Sergei Zgurets, after the liberation of Ukrainian territories within the 1991 borders, the war will move into a new format.
We also remind you that according to the report of analysts from ISW, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liquidated 120 Russians when they tried to conduct reconnaissance in the Zaporozhye region. The Ukrainian military defeated the Russians from the 503rd motorized rifle regiment of the RF Armed Forces in the Tokmak area.
