The billionaire made a scandalous statement in the context of the discussion of the presidential elections in 2010, as a result of which Viktor Yanukovych won.
Another scandal erupted on Twitter due to a new statement by American billionaire Elon Musk. In his comment on a post by user kanekoa.substack.com, the founder of SpaceX wrotethat the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2010 may have been dubious, but the Revolution of Dignity in 2014 is without a doubt a coup.
The comment appeared below a post that quoted American political scientist John Mearsheimer as saying that for Putin, the overthrow of the pro-Russian President of Ukraine in 2014 (Viktor Yanukovych – ed.), which he called a coup, was the last straw. Also attached to the post was an article by Mearsheimer titled “Why the crisis in Ukraine is the fault of the West.”
“These elections may have been questionable, but there is no doubt that there was a coup,” Elon Musk wrote in a comment.
Twitter users immediately reacted to Musk’s statement and explained to him that in fact there was no coup in Ukraine. For example, Eva Fox user Claudius Nero’s Legion wrote that Russia managed to make its puppet president of Ukraine.
“Yanukovych was an enemy of the Ukrainian people and all of Ukraine and led our country to the abyss. The people united to get rid of this criminal. That’s the point,” a Twitter user wrote.
Another user with the nickname LouiseMensch wrote back to Elon Musk that there was no coup d’etat in Ukraine, and Yanukovych was legally removed from office by a vote in parliament.
“It’s like saying impeachment is a coup d’état,” a Twitter user wrote.
Another answer to Musk said that there was no coup, and the legitimate parliament elected by the Ukrainian people removed the president for betraying his country and simply fled to Russia.
“Well done, Ilonchik, a good boy. At the same time, he showed the limits of his competence. Calling a “coup” a democratic revolution, when millions went to the center of the capital and overthrew a corrupt president who was exclusively engaged in enriching his son, is such,” a user with the nickname President commented on Elon Musk’s answer Roissi.
We remind you that in January of this year, Elon Musk warned the United States against helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine in delivering strikes on Crimea. According to the billionaire, the escalation of the conflict could harm Ukraine and the whole world.
We also remind you that Elon Musk made his dog Floki the CEO of Twitter, but all users appreciated the humor of the American billionaire.
