According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, the Russian Armed Forces have already launched a large offensive in the Donbass, during which Wagner PMC fighters are sent in waves to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a major offensive in the Donbass, during which they lose several hundred soldiers every day. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov in an interview with the Italian edition of La Repubblica.
Reznikov noted that the Ukrainian military command calls the offensive of the Russian troops “creeping.” This is due to the Kremlin’s tactics, according to which the fighters of the Russian PMC “Wagner” are sent to the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in waves in order to advance only a few meters.
“For example, in Bakhmut. Twenty of them attack our positions, and we kill them. After a while, twenty more come, and twenty more, in a continuous cycle. Our general on the eastern front said that in a day the Russians had 500 dead and 900 wounded,” Reznikov was quoted as saying by journalists.
The Ukrainian defense minister also noted that Bakhmut is a stronghold, the protection of which reduces the enemy’s ability to attack.

Recall that on February 26, the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine announced the liquidation of the enemy assault group in Bakhmut. It is reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed nine invaders in close combat.
Earlier, on February 25, Russian propagandists said that the Ukrainian military allegedly blew up a dam in the Bakhmut area in order to slow down the advance of the invaders.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine dated February 25, the Russian Federation deployed 200 police officers from the Akhmat special forces regiment near Bakhmut to prevent possible desertion of mobilized or sabotage.
On February 22, the founder of the Russian PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin published a photo of the Wagnerites killed in Ukraine, accusing the Russian Defense Ministry of poor supply of ammunition. According to Prigozhin, his fighters died from “shell hunger.”
