24 February. The turning point in world history. Turning point. We, Ukrainians, are changing the course of the history of the whole world. Feel the taste of these words. This is the date of the beginning of human tragedies, but at the same time the date of the beginning of a new development. Every Ukrainian got the opportunity to test his courage, resilience, wisdom, purposefulness, endurance. Each of us has been given the opportunity to become powerful. This is how a society is tempered, this is how a nation is tempered – in trials.
This is not only about a soldier who fights at the front, or about the command, which bears on its shoulders the responsibility for other people’s lives. We are talking about a woman who went abroad with her children. About a child who spent a whole year of his formation as a person in bomb shelters to the sound of sirens. About a programmer who started writing programs and designing equipment for the army. About civilians, who give a significant part of their earnings to the army. About rescuers, doctors, volunteers, officials, about all of us.
To save love and independently pull the upbringing of your children in an unfamiliar country is tantamount to the test of a warrior.
Our victory will not take shape on its own. The Great Victory of Ukraine is millions of small victories for every Ukrainian. Victories over oneself, one’s laziness, weakness, cowardice, paternalism, narrow-mindedness and infantilism.
The step towards Magura concerns everyone. Each of us got the opportunity to create a new self, better than it was yesterday. This opportunity has not come for free, it has been bought at the cost of the lives of the best of us. To neglect this opportunity is a crime. But everyone must come to their victory on their own. This should be a balanced decision of your own. The decision to stop being a “little man on whom nothing depends” and be born a citizen of his country, who takes responsibility for its future.
The language of education must be transformed into the language of arguments. Do you want us to win? Demonstrate an example, show that you have become better. Show how hard it was for you to switch to Ukrainian, but you overcame yourself. How you, having parted with your wife for many months, retained love and fidelity, although it was hard for you. How in civilian life you did not fence yourself off from the war, but raised your ass, sacrificed comfort and organized a new reality around you. How did you, once in the army, not start whining about how your expectations were not met, but began to form a new worldview in a new reality … a difficult reality. Finally, how you overcame fear and took a step towards the enemy… first of all, the enemy hiding inside you.
Victory is being forged right now. Victory is forged by you. We have no moral right to let each other down. Glory to Ukraine!
