After a late warm-up, Mercedes quickly expanded its range of 100% electric EQ models. Eventually, almost all sedans and SUVs from the Etoile brand should have a zero-emission equivalent. Among the last born of this branch, we find the EQE. Little sister of the EQS limousine, this cruiser is distinguished by its original lines and its dashboard worthy of a science fiction film.
But even the most sophisticated cars can experience some manufacturing issues. Mercedes is thus in the process of recalling part of the first EQE chain exits in order to remedy a steering problem.
Indeed, it was found that, on some cars, steering components could have been damaged during assembly. These must therefore be returned to the workshop so that this major element can be replaced.
This operation, which bears the internal reference 4692106, concerns only a dozen EQEs in France. All were assembled between January 11 and May 9, 2022. The owners are contacted directly by the French importer, knowing that each car will have to be immobilized for around 5 hours, the time to proceed with this replacement.
