The problem with the commodity boom is that it acts on an entire supply chain behind it. The rise in the price of gas, which has continued to increase in recent months, is causing delivery stoppages. According to some logistics organizations in Germany, the price of a liter of Adblue rose from 19 to 69 cents in a short time, causing delivery disruptions. The reason is simple: the producers of Adblue had to reduce the pace in the face of the surge in gas, essential in the production of ammonia, the basic element of Adblue.
In Germany, the risk of shortages is taken very seriously, and for good reason: without Adblue, most Euro 6 diesel engines equipped with a pollution control system operating with this liquid can no longer run if the Adblue tank is empty. And this obviously concerns the transport of goods, essential to the proper functioning of a country. Let us not forget either the many private diesel vehicles which could no longer run without Adblue.
