The GAC Group is on the project through its subsidiary GAC Aian New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. The brand uses Huawei’s platform to create three models. The GAC has unveiled the next generation of the GAC GS8 crossover. The pre-reform model has been on the Russian market since 2019.

With the change of generation, the GAC GS8 received a changed appearance and increased dimensions. Thanks to its new parameters, the Chinese SUV turns out to be larger than the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300.

The length of the celestial SUV is 4.98 meters with a wheelbase of 2.92 meters. Width and height – 1.95 and 1.78 meters, respectively. Under the hood of the all-wheel drive novelty, there is a two-liter turbo engine, the power of which reaches 252 hp. Paired with the power plant is an 8-speed automatic transmission from Aisin.

The interior of the new generation crossover can be designed for five, six or seven seats.

The list of available equipment includes a virtual dashboard, multimedia with a large touch screen, three-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, a driver’s assistant to help avoid a collision, a panoramic sunroof and much more.

The Chinese concern GAC has announced the start of sales of the new Trumpchi Empow sedan in sports style, which should appeal to young people.

The debut prototype of the sedan called Trumpchi Empow was demonstrated by the GAC brand last fall at the Guangzhou Motor Show. In June 2021, the novelty is ready for sale.

In terms of size, the sedan is similar to the current foreign cars Volkswagen Jetta or Hyundai Elantra. The body is stretched in length by 4700 mm, width is 1850 mm. The height reached 1432 mm. There are 2736 mm between the wheels, so the passengers in the second row will have plenty of space.

The GAC Trumpchi Empow starter kit has LED optics and 16-inch casting. Also in the range of models there is a top version with additional sports style. The set includes a different radiator grille, rethought bumpers, a spoiler on the trunk lid, round exhaust pipes, 18-inch wheels and decorative elements on the body.

The interior has integrated screens of the dashboard and multimedia system with a diagonal of 10.25 inches each.

Even in the basic configuration, the designers decorated the interior with contrasting inserts. A large button to start the engine is located in the center of the tunnel. The list of options includes the electric drive of the first row of seats and the hatch.

The car is designed on the modular platform Global Platform Modular Architecture. Previously, this architecture has already been used for the Trumpchi GS4 SUV. Representatives of the brand equipped the sports novelty with an independent suspension in the rear. At the same time the drive at the car is exclusively forward.

First on sale will be the starting version of the GAC Trumpchi Empow with a turbocharged 1.5 T-GDI unit with a capacity of 177 hp. and 270 Nm. In tandem with him works exclusively robotic 7-speed transmission with two wet clutches. In the future, the Chinese brand will offer the market a modification of the sedan with a turbocharged 2-liter unit and hybrid configurations.

The differences lie in the reimagined front optics, the grown grille and redesigned bumpers. The changes also affected the glazing line. The bonnet is decorated with embossed stampings. The optics in the back have received a different filling.

The 2022 SUV has grown in size, making it bigger than its main rival, the British Land Cruiser Prado SUV. So, the body was stretched in length by 4,876 mm, the width is 1,910 mm, the height is 1,770 mm. There are 2 800 mm between the wheels. The ground clearance has reached 220 mm.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a displacement of 2 liters and a return of 190 hp. paired with 8АКПП. The drive is exclusively full with the ability to lock differentials. The SUV also acquired a hybrid power plant.
