According to Deputy Foreign Ministry of Poland Andrzej Scheina, the mistake of the previous government was the opinion that there are no contradictions in relations between Poland and Ukraine.
Tomorrow, March 27, a meeting of the Polish and Ukrainian governments will take place in Warsaw, during which it is planned to sign a protocol of disagreements. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Andrzej Sheina, writes PAP.
According to the diplomat, the meeting in Warsaw will focus on economic and military issues, while the countries should note down some of the differences that distinguish the two governments.
“The main issues will be armaments, issues of economic cooperation, including agriculture, as well as the search for solutions to pressing issues as of today,” Sheina explained.
A representative of the Polish government claims that among the topics for discussion will be Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
“In my opinion, it is already necessary to discuss the issue of accession. Since Ukraine has already reached an advanced stage of negotiations, we are therefore ready to help the Ukrainians in this.” – he noted.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland also called the opinion that there are no contradictions in relations between Warsaw and Kyiv erroneous. Therefore, Andrzej Szejna is convinced, it will be necessary to openly tell where the Poles can help, and where protocols of disagreements need to be drawn up.

“The biggest mistake of the Law and Justice government was that it deceived Polish women, Poles and, most likely, themselves, that there were no problems, in particular, with agricultural products,” the official explained.
Sheina believes that the basis of Ukrainian relations should be concrete actions, since it is important that “a thaw in Polish-Ukrainian relations, sincere conversation and negotiations take place.” Separately, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland added that “certain historical issues” between Poland and Ukraine need to be resolved at the meeting.
“Today they are not the most important, but they also give us the opportunity to defuse the atmosphere on many issues,” said the deputy foreign minister.
Recently, relations between Poland and Ukraine have deteriorated, in particular due to protests by Polish farmers who opposed the export of Ukrainian grain. At the same time, on March 4, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said that Ukrainian refugees added 1% to 3% annual growth to Polish GDP.
Also on March 13, Polish Sejm deputy Pawel Kowal promised that the problem with blocking the Polish border would be resolved within a few weeks.
