Students of the Mechanical Engineering Institute at KPI today, in their free time from studies, are engaged in assembling evacuation drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These are essentially mobile electric stretchers with remote control, which were developed by an immigrant from Slavyansk, Dmitry Mamonov. And KPI picked up the idea and decided to help set up production.
Electric stretchers can carry up to 120 kg over a distance of up to 5 km. The battery lasts for one hour of operation. They are driven by electric motors from hoverboards. To increase cross-country ability, rubber tracks are put on the wheels.
As a result, the car can overcome inclines of up to 30 degrees. Electric stretchers have already shown themselves to be excellent on the front line. They fold easily and fit comfortably into the trunk of an SUV. It takes three weeks to produce one such evacuation drone. The cost of components is about 50 thousand UAH.
