Some drivers decide to do the most incredible things to avoid ending up in the hands of the police. So did the woman who was speeding in her BMW X3 last weekend. While escaping a police chase, she drove her vehicle into the Pacific Ocean off Venice Beach in Los Angeles, California. This happened 48 km from the place where the speeding was recorded.
According to the local police department, she had to be rescued by helicopter and police boat. Also in the cabin were two Boston Terriers. One of them managed to get out on his own, the second was pulled out by a rescuer. They are now at a local animal shelter. It is possible that they will soon have new owners.
For the offender, everything will not end so rosy. She was charged with animal cruelty and disobeying police. In all likelihood, she will also be accused of speeding and other violations. The offender's car was pulled out using a tractor.
