Volvo electric cars will soon become even more attractive to buyers. The company intends to reduce their charging time, thereby freeing their owners from being tied to a power outlet for a long time.
To do this, Volvo entered into an agreement with the British company Breathe Battery Technologies. She developed software for the Swedish brand that optimizes the battery charging process in real time, thereby speeding it up by 30%. It is promised that this will not negatively affect the battery.
“The investment and commercial partnership with Breathe helps us solve a familiar problem for electric vehicle customers and makes charging performance more competitive,” said Volvo Cars Tech Fund CEO Anne-Sophie Ekberg.
He noted that the technology is aimed at accelerating the charging process in short mode, that is, when drivers charge the battery not to 100%, but to 80%. It will make electric car owners more mobile. Volvo emphasized that they will be the first to use the new Breathe technology.
