According to the Czech President, 56 applications for admission to serve in the Ukrainian army had to be rejected based on recommendations from the Czech Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Czech President Petr Pavel approved 20 applications from citizens of his country for admission to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Czech Radio writes about this with reference to the words of the Czech leader.
It is reported that 56 applications were rejected based on recommendations from the Czech Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the Czech leader, the reason for the refusal was that the applicants did not meet the established criteria.

As noted in the publication, the previous president of the Czech Republic, during a full-scale war in Ukraine, granted permission to serve in the Ukrainian army to 132 Czech citizens.
It is also reported that Petro Pavel criticized the insufficient assistance to Ukraine from the West and the level of investment of Western countries in their defense industry. According to him, over the past two years not a single new tank has been produced in the EU.
The Czech leader noted that the West was unable to supply Kyiv with a sufficient amount of high-quality equipment and ammunition for a successful and rapid counter-offensive. He also pointed out that the Russian Federation, meanwhile, has increased its military production.
