According to Anton Kotsukon, the Russian Armed Forces had a tenfold superiority in the number of fire weapons and “shot absolutely everything that moved.”
Ukrainian servicemen tried to the last to enter the Zenit position in Avdiivka. This was stated by the speaker of the 110th separate mechanized brigade, Anton Kotsukon, on the air of Donbass Realii.
The speaker noted that leaving Avdiivka is a multi-level, highly complex operation from the point of view of logistics and management. He emphasized that we are talking about the evacuation of several thousand people.

“As for Zenit, until the last minute they tried to get there with equipment,” he added.
Kotsukon said that at some point the advance of the Russian occupiers was so rapid that Ukrainian equipment simply physically could not get there. According to him, the Russians “simply shot absolutely everything that moved.”
According to Kotsukon, equipment was a priority target for the invaders. According to him, Russian troops had a tenfold superiority in fire weapons. The speaker emphasized that over the past few days the enemy has been throwing 100 cabs towards the Avdeevskoe direction.
“Accordingly, at a certain moment, Zenit was surrounded and our equipment simply physically could not get there, although there were attempts,” he said.
Execution of prisoners at the Zenit position: what is known
Let us recall that on February 19, the press service of the 110th Mechanized Infantry Brigade reported that the Russian occupiers promised to evacuate Ukrainian wounded soldiers from the Zenit fortified area, but ultimately shot them.
A soldier of the 110th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Viktor Bilyak, noted that the Zenit fortified area was one of the main targets of Russian troops in Avdeevka. This position was bombarded by mortars, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and kamikaze drones.
According to media reports, the wounded Ukrainian soldiers, who were left at the Zenit position in Avdiivka, contacted their relatives. One of the fighters said that he was offered to leave his colleagues and run away.
The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmitry Lubinets, said that he turned to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross to find out the circumstances of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war by the Russian occupiers at the Zenit position.
