NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov urged not to draw “tragic conclusions.” He assured that Avdeevka was given to the Russian troops “very dearly.”
After the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Avdiivka, the situation on the front line remains difficult, but not catastrophic. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Alexei Danilov stated this in a commentary to Ukrainskaya Pravda on February 19.
“There is no need to exaggerate all these things. In war, every day is difficult and difficult. And now there is definitely no need to draw any tragic conclusions from this,” he noted.
The official confirmed that the situation is difficult. He emphasized that the authorities recognize this. In particular, according to him, there are problems with weapons.
“Unfortunately, there are not enough of them on the territory of our country today. But we will assume that in the near future this whole situation should change,” Danilov said.
He assured that Ukraine is working to ensure that the situation stabilizes.
“The maneuvers carried out by our military are professional. But I emphasize once again, unfortunately, this is a war,” said the NSDC Secretary.
He noted that war has its price, and we are talking about the losses of the best of the best. However, according to Danilov, the RF Armed Forces got Avdeevka “very dearly.”
“They lost a huge amount of their military there, they lost a huge amount of their equipment there,” the official explained.
Danilov added that he does not see “anything so catastrophic” in the maneuver of the Ukrainian military.
Let us remind you that the Center for Strategic Communications informed that the Russian Armed Forces suffered more losses in Avdeevka than in the battles for Bakhmut. At the same time, a captured city will not give the enemy a strategic advantage.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky stated that the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Avdiivka is connected with the weakening of military assistance. According to him, US leader Joe Biden is familiar with the situation.
