Dazzling colors, as well as numerous new elements and technical upgrades, the new C44 of Stake F1 brings with it.
Stake F1 last year called Alfa Romeo and formerly Sauber, which will change its name again during the season, revealed its 2024 car, the C44, which wears a dazzling new fluorescent green and black livery, at a glittering event in London Guildhall. The Sauber-run team, which will run this year as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, begins a new era after saying goodbye to Alfa Romeo.
The Swiss company says that the C44 is significantly different from its predecessor and that a bunch of changes have been introduced. One of the most significant changes is the switch to another type of suspension. The C44 also features revised side panels and engine cover, as well as a new floor. The team adds that some major upgrades will come to the car after the first races. The Sauber-run team has an unchanged line-up in its driver duo, with Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu for the third consecutive season.
Technical director James Key, who returned to the Hinwil team last September after stints at Toro Rosso and McLaren, added: “The C44 is essentially a completely new car, there are a lot of mechanical changes, some of which are not visible at all, but some are very visible. The front suspension is completely new, a difficult and ambitious task for a team of our size. There are also plenty of aerodynamic changes, as expected, as this remains the primary area of development so, overall, the car will actually look quite different from last year. We've taken a lot of new, exciting directions, many of which seem to hold quite a bit of potential, so we can't wait to see them on the track.
