The second day of the Monte Carlo Rally was successfully completed for Iordanis Serderidis. The Greek driver is also present this year at the opening race of the World Rally Championship, participating in the WRC Masters category with a Volkswagen Polo R5 with the Greek flag in the sky and after the completion of the second day, he is in third place.
The action started on Thursday night with the first two special stages of the race, under the floodlights: “The atmosphere that prevailed on the night routes was unique. The crowd was cheering us and it was demonstrative and that gave us a boost”, said Iordanis Serderidis, who added: “We moved cautiously in the two night specials, knowing that it is not our strongest point. We managed to achieve satisfactory times and move up early to third place in the WRC Masters class”
106 racing kilometers and six special stages included Friday's leg, with the Greek driver maintaining third place in his category: “On Friday we gradually increased our pace, avoiding the tricky and slippery ice spots we encountered on the special stages. The important thing is that we maintained third place in the WRC Masters without being threatened and I believe that in the rest of the race, by making the right choice of tires, we can move more nimbly”, were the words of the Greek driver, who “had his moment” on Friday's final, night run: “Indeed, we injured the rear left part of the Volkswagen as we made contact with a pillar, without, fortunately, further negative consequences. We are not deterred and continue with optimism the demanding Monte Carlo Rally, keeping in mind to climb the finishing ramp on Sunday afternoon”
The Monte Carlo Rally continues on Saturday, January 27 with six special stages, with a total length of 120 racing kilometers. Follow the progress of Iordanis Serderidis in the Monte Carlo Rally through the driver's personal Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Serderidisrallyfans
