This orange-flavored dessert only takes 20 minutes to prepare.
The most delicate dessert in the world is prepared without baking and very quickly. A mousse made from orange custard, whipped cream and mascarpone cheese can be served as an independent dessert or used for cakes, filling profiteroles and pancakes, decorating cupcakes. Ingredients
- oranges – 4-5 pcs.;
- sugar – 100 g;
- corn starch – 50 g;
- chicken eggs – 3 pcs.;
- heavy confectionery cream – 500 ml.
- vanilla sugar – 1/4 tsp;
- mascarpone – 250 g;
- salt – a pinch.

Preparation
Step 1
Cut the oranges crosswise into two halves. Squeeze the juice out of them and strain it through a strainer.
Step 2
Whisk the eggs with sugar, salt and vanilla sugar until smooth. Add 350 ml of juice, stir well.
Step 3
Dissolve starch in the remaining juice.
Step 4
Place the mixture over low heat in a thick-bottomed saucepan. Cook for a few minutes until the mixture turns white. Pour in the starch and juice and cook, stirring constantly, until the custard thickens.
Step 5
Place the custard in a bowl, cover with cling film and place in the refrigerator to cool.
Step 6
Beat the chilled cream with a mixer until it becomes a light cream. Add the mascarpone and whisk further until you get a thick cream.
Step 7
Add two tablespoons of buttercream to the custard and mix until smooth. Add the custard with the remaining butter and beat again.
Step 8
Transfer the mousse into a pastry bag and pipe it into bowls or glasses for serving. Before serving, place the dessert in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Step 9
Before serving, decorate the dessert to your liking. You can add chocolate, nuts, fruit or cookies.
