New Holland recently revealed design sketches of its latest CR11 combine harvester, which were praised by renowned Italian magazine Auto & Design.
Unlike cars, the design of agricultural machinery does not change as often, with the advent of important technical innovations. The CR11 combine is not only the largest in the company’s line, it also promises to be the most highly productive, with minimal grain losses during harvesting.
The new design, called Inspired by Nature, was developed at the Belgian Zedelgem plant together with the design center of the parent company CNH in Turin. The smooth forms of the combine are reminiscent of supercars.
Particular attention is paid to the color scheme: the contrast of the signature, bright yellow color with black. There is an air intake on board that optimizes the shape. And just above you can see a wavy blue graphic element, inspired by the grain processing process inside the combine. An important advantage of the new design is its easy adaptation for various agricultural machinery: for example, for the T7 Methane Power – LNG tractor.
The interior design of the operator’s cabin has also changed dramatically. In addition to improving functionality, the developers pursued another goal – to transform the combine operator’s workplace into a supercar cockpit. For this purpose, Color & Trip solutions were used, typical for the design of Ferrari interiors. If before this the cabin of New Holland combines was dominated by light colors, now a transition has been made to dark ones, with bright stitching. According to the designers, this should improve the quality of perception.
