The big foreign auction sites they hammer out older car models every day that have written their own history and they entice collectors to acquire them. One of them is the collectingcars.com where he often auctions rare cars that we present to you through publications, such as for example the Mitsuoka Orochi, the ugliest car in the world.
This time our eye fell on it in the rare Ford Focus RS500 located in Greece and is now looking for a new “home”. Apart from the Greek origin of the car and its rarity, since they were built only 500 unitsanother interesting element of this particular auction is that the car it has only “written” 3,050 km on the odometer!
The RS 500 was introduced by Ford in 2010 and was based on in the second generation of the RS series, the MK2, which had debuted a year earlier. Under the hood there is one 2.5 L five-cylinder turbo engine which yields 350 PS and 460 Nm of torquewith the drive passing to the front axle via 6-speed manual transmission.
The main differences with the simple RS found in the power of the engine (the basic version produces 305 PS and 440 Nm of torque), in greater air intake on the front, on the upgraded one fuel pump and in coloring, since the RS 500 was available exclusively in black mat.
As the ad states, this particular unit is one of the five who came to Greece and it’s about him number 155 of 500 copies manufactured by Ford, as evidenced by the relevant plaque on the center console.
The aluminum rims are 19 and combine with red calipers and tires Continental SportContact6. Inside, they stand out red Recaro bucket seats while the equipment includes, among other things, parking sensors, Rear View Camera, sat nav screen and dual zone air conditioning.
As the last Greek owner reports technical inspection was done on December 21 and the result was “clean”. The last service was last June by a Ford workshop where the changed engine oilsthe oil filter and the battery, while in the summer of 2021, at 2,904 km, timing belt replaced.
The auction ends on January 20th and by the time these lines were being written the highest bid that had been done to acquire this rare, “Greek” Ford Focus RS500, was 94,366 euros. See the details of the auction by clicking here
