The official presentation by BMW her brand new Neue Klasse platform at the beginning of last autumn it opened the way for the next generation electric modelswhich will begin to be sold on 2025.
Her successor iX3 it will be the first SUV that will reach the marketsalong with the new electric sedan that will succeed it Series 3. A few weeks ago we presented them to you first spy photos of the leisure vehicle and now our partners met for the second time the electric SUV.
After the first tests on roads near the Munich Research and Development center, they came first “hard” for the new iX3, on its snowy surfaces Northern Sweden. Tests determining the endurance of an EV’s systems.
Internally, the new SUV is codenamed NA5 and although his name has not been officially announced, everything points, both in terms of… schedule as well as dimensions, that it will replace the iX3. The camouflage is intense on the body, covering even the rear glass and the rear windows, but anyway the front section it will be the one that gathers interest.
There will be the more design changes, with the new design of the mask and the new lighting bodies. After all, in the presentation of the Neue Klasse, the Germans clearly spoke of new design language. Of course, in this particular prototype, the headlights are temporary and will not reach the production level, but we can get a first image, which follows the philosophy of the original Neue Klasse presented in Munich.
Overall the proportions look different, with the new iX3 being longer and lower from the current model, while there are also differences in side design of the body, on windows and door handles. As for the releases, we are waiting rear wheel drive and four-wheel drivewith M variations and maybe, in the future, one “thoroughbred” M version.
Although it was not possible to have shots from the interior, one – even a distant photo – gives one little idea about what we can expect. Of course the screen in the center of the dashboard it is not the normal one, but at the base of the windshield and at the bottom of the dashboard there are horizontal surfaces where various indicators of the “instrument panel” are expected to be displayed there, which will not have a traditional design but are expected to utilize augmented reality graphics.
