The full-size Chevrolet Suburban SUV and its smaller Tahoe sibling have received a planned refresh that should help them compete with rivals from Ford and Toyota. The most noticeable change is a new front fascia inspired by the electric Silverado. Almost all versions of SUVs receive a glossy black grille with the brand logo at the top. The Z71 trim gets a black grille with a mesh pattern, while the flagship High Country gets a chrome trim.
The side profile has not changed, with the exception of the wheel design. The sporty RST and top-end High Country versions are available with 24-inch wheels. At the new rear there is a wide glossy black stripe between the lights and four exhaust pipes.
Inside, the changes are much more significant. All 2025 Tahoe and Suburban versions come standard with a new 17.7-inch touchscreen and 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster. The front panel has been redesigned to improve visibility. A gear selector is located on the steering column, replacing the previous set of buttons on the center console. An electric armrest and a secret section for “small things” are offered for an extra charge.
In addition to support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SUVs have an app for towing assistance. The electronics provide step-by-step instructions for transporting the trailer, taking into account its dimensions and tire condition. There is also a system of cameras connected to the cloud, video from which is displayed on the screen of the owner’s smartphone.
The 2025 Suburban and Tahoe come standard with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping, and front and side pedestrian detection. Also announced are an interior camera and a rear passenger monitoring system that detects heartbeat and breathing patterns. An enhanced Super Cruise driver assistance package is available on LT, RST, Premier and High Country trims.
The 2025 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe are available in gasoline and diesel versions. The gasoline line is represented by V8 engines with a displacement of 5.3 and 6.2 liters, inherited from their predecessors. The 2025 Z71 trim will be offered with a 3.0-liter Chevrolet Duramax turbodiesel. Suburban and Tahoe also received a high-performance version of the diesel engine with 309 hp output. and 671 Nm of torque, 28 hp. and 35 Nm more than before.
