The command notes that it is not they who should make decisions about the Ukrainians’ response to danger. However, the representative of the PS of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, spoke about the only way to eliminate the problem altogether.
In Ukraine, long-term alarms are declared due to the takeoff of Russian MiG aircraft, because they can strike from afar. Speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuri Ignat spoke about this during a telethon on November 29.
“Yesterday there was a short-lived anxiety, let’s be honest, right? It was not the same as in previous weeks,” he noted.
The military man explained that there is only one way to stop the long-term worries about the MiGs – to destroy them. However, according to him, aircraft are inaccessible to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, because they can attack from a very long distance.
“The Air Force will continue to provide operational information when there is a threat: when a MiG is flying or when there are missiles and the like. The relevant ministries and departments have been tasked with finding a solution. This is not the Air Force,” Ignat emphasized.
He explained that they are now discussing the population’s response to the alarm over MiGs. That is, we are talking about how civilians will react to the fact that a plane has taken off and there is a threat because of it.
“The Air Force reports and does its job of informing the public, in particular in the Telegram channel. And how they decide to respond to this alarm – we are waiting for a decision,” the speaker added.
Let us recall that on November 17, President Vladimir Zelensky said that he had instructed the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers to propose a solution regarding concerns about enemy MiGs. According to him, the sorties of Dagger carriers are paralyzing the country.
Already on November 19, the Air Force responded that the military was ready to implement the solution found, but had no information about when it would be ready.
