On Monday, April 10, hail and snow fell in parts of Saudi Arabia. Particularly large snowdrifts were observed in the Al Baha region, in the southwest of the country, according to Gulf News.
According to media reports, due to unexpected rainfall in the region, traffic was disrupted and several roads had to be closed. Judging by the video posted online, the cars were stuck in snowdrifts.
To clear the transport routes, emergency teams of the municipality used bulldozers. The Al Baha Education Authority also announced the suspension of classes and a temporary transition to distance learning.

“Despite the disruptions, the unusual weather caused unrest in the region, and many motorists stopped to enjoy the moderate cold. Children and youth were seen having fun in the foothills of the mountains and on the sides of snow-covered roads,” the journalists say.
Despite weather changes in the region and severe cold, local authorities urged citizens to exercise caution. In particular, this warning concerned motorists.
Recall that two years ago, snow could also be seen in the north-west of Saudi Arabia. The province of Tabuk fell under the snow, as well as parts of Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Egypt.
