Ukrainian tank crews completed four training courses in specializations: commander, gunner, driver and operator. In the future, the crew will consolidate their knowledge at the training ground and with the help of combat vehicle simulators.
The British military showed how military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trained on the battle tank of the United Kingdom Challenger 2. The corresponding video on Saturday, March 18, published UK Ministry of Defense on the official Twitter account.
As the commander of the training regiment of armored combat vehicles, Lieutenant Colonel John Stone, said, Ukrainian tankers are trying to give maximum knowledge in a short time. The course is designed to provide a “solid base” of knowledge on “how to fight a tank and how to leave it”.

Each member of the future crew completed courses according to their specialization, then the crews will be coordinated at the training ground.
“We ran four separate courses, similar to those in the UK – courses for the commander, gunner, driver and operator. And at the end, technical training, that is, learning which button does what and how to make the gun fire. We will also prepare a consolidation course package that will allow them to work together as a crew, firing on a tank for the first time on the ranges, then they will be ready to move on to tactical training in the form of simulators, and then they will return to Ukraine to confidently drive the vehicles that the UK government will provide them,” said Lieutenant Colonel Stone.
Recall that on March 5, Military Watch journalists spoke about the strengths and weaknesses of the British Challenger 2 tanks. Among the advantages of the tanks, military experts noted the powerful armor of the vehicle.
We also recall that on February 8, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that the British Challenger 2 tanks would arrive in Ukraine in a few weeks. According to him, already in April, Ukrainian defenders will be able to use military equipment to protect the sovereign territory of Ukraine. The British government promised Ukraine 14 of these tanks.
