The Czech automaker Skoda does not see the possibility of continuing its activities in Russia, said the chairman of the board of the company Klaus Zellmer.
The Volkswagen Group has analyzed various scenarios for the development of events. The preferred option is to sell all assets in Russia, and hence the plant in Kaluga, to a third party. There is no chance that we will resume the production and sale of cars in Russia in the near future, he stressed.

Klaus Zellmer noted that the departure of Skoda from Russia resulted in a loss of almost 700 million euros for the company. This money was spent on maintaining the production and dealer network of the company since March last year.
The top manager of Skoda also confirmed that negotiations on the sale of assets in the Russian Federation are in the “final phase”.
The Russian office of the Volkswagen concern (owns Skoda), located in Nizhny Novgorod, closed last summer. The plant in Kaluga, with a high degree of probability, will receive a new owner in the near future.
