Members of a criminal group deceived people into France, forced them to apply for refugee status, and then took away cash payments. The “income” of criminals from only one person was a thousand euros.
In the Odessa region, a group of intruders was detained who forced poor Ukrainians to fraudulently obtain refugee status in European countries, and then took money from the victims. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region.
According to the police, for their scheme, the attackers used people who, being in a difficult life situation or having mental health problems, could not fully account for their actions.
Such Ukrainians were taken to the city of Melun (France) and, according to a legend invented in advance, were forced to apply for refugee status. After a person was issued such a status and he began to receive the first cash payments, the suspects took money from him.
On average, the “income” of attackers from each such “refugee” was about a thousand euros.
In order to bring the creators of the criminal scheme to justice, the Ukrainian police enlisted the support of colleagues from France. As a result of a special operation in Ukraine, 16 suspects were detained. Eight more people were detained by local security forces in France.
The indictments have already been sent to court.
Recall, on March 16 it became known that 10,000 Ukrainian refugees in Ireland will be forcibly evicted from April 1. For non-Ukrainian refugees, the situation is even worse. The government is trying to use sports facilities, art galleries, conference rooms and other facilities that could accommodate “beds, mattresses and sleeping bags.”
We also informed that Ukrainian refugees in Switzerland were obliged to sell their cars in order to receive social benefits. The new rules came into effect on March 15, 2023.
