The longer the bag is marinated in beer, the more tender its taste will be.
The knuckle is a part of the pork leg, from which you can cook many dishes. In Ukraine, baked knuckle is especially popular, which, when properly cooked, turns out to be very juicy and fragrant. We suggest you cook this dish according to the recipe from the blog “Delicious Recipes for Every Day”.
Pork knuckle baked in the oven
knuckle – 1.5 kg; garlic – 2 cloves; bay leaf – 1 pc; dark beer – 1.5 liters; spices: salt, peppercorns, the rest – to taste and according to doing; honey – 2 tablespoons; soy sauce – 4 tbsp. l; mustard (French) – 1 tbsp. l.
Rinse the shank well under running water and dry with paper towels. With a sharp knife, make cuts in the shank and stuff garlic there, previously peeled and cut into thin slices. Place the knuckle in a saucepan, pour beer over it, add bay leaf and spices. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for a day or more. The longer the better, only in this case the shank must be turned over. After a while, put the knuckle in beer on fire under the ajar lid. When it boils, reduce the heat to a minimum and simmer the knuckle for three hours, while turning over to the other side two hours after cooking.
During cooking, the meat will begin to move away from the bone. Put the shank in a baking dish. Mix honey, soy sauce and mustard until smooth and brush the shank well on all sides with this mixture. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 40-50 minutes. During baking, additionally grease the remaining shank with sauce several times.
