The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the communication equipment in the Russian new tanks does not work properly. It does not withstand moisture and rusts.
Russian T-90M tanks are equipped with equipment marked “FSB”. This suggests that the special services do not trust the command of the RF Armed Forces. This was stated by the representative of the Center for Research of captured and advanced weapons and military equipment of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Andriy Rudyk, Military Media Center writes.
According to Rudyk, such marks were found not only on whole units, but even on weapon chips. At first it was assumed that the FSB was carrying out some sort of check of the equipment. However, then it turned out that the equipment was not designed to transmit precisely classified information.

He also noted that such “branding” has a political purpose. Thus, the FSB does not trust the military leadership of the Russian Federation. However, the communication equipment in Russian tanks does not work.
“For a long time, specialists in our center figured out why the Russians have communication problems while driving vehicles on the battlefield. But the problem turned out to be very simple: their equipment itself does not hold moisture,” Rudyk said.

According to him, the equipment absorbs moisture, which leads to contact closure, metal corrosion. The investigated radios, seized from the T-90M tanks, were manufactured in 2017-2018, but looked like they were made in the 1970s. So, their insides became covered with rust, due to which the wiring was closed, and therefore the enemy’s combat vehicles could not communicate with each other.
