US State Department spokesman Ned Price pointed out that Moscow has been spreading its propaganda about “biological laboratories in Ukraine” for a long time to justify its military aggression.
The United States of America believes that the Russian Federation is developing biological weapons contrary to its obligations under the Biological Weapons Convention. State Department spokesman Ned Price said this on March 14, Ukrinform reports.
According to Ned Price, Russian propagandists have been promoting false information about the so-called “biological weapons laboratories” on the territory of Ukraine for many years. Thus, the Kremlin is trying to justify its military aggression.
Russian media, the Russian parliament, Internet resources connected with Russian intelligence, as well as so-called experts are involved in the dissemination of disinformation about “biological laboratories in Ukraine”.
“These entities work together to constantly, drop by drop, fill the information environment with false narratives in order to create the illusion of a large number of voices repeating each other,” Price stated.
Recall that on February 14, the Center for Strategic Communications under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine denied the statements of Russian journalists that the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly use chemical weapons against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Last November, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the Russians have chemical weapons at their disposal, but Ukrainian intelligence has not yet recorded a mass transfer of such weapons to the territory of Ukraine.
In March 2022, the UK Ministry of Defense suggested, based on their intelligence data, that the Russian Armed Forces could use biological weapons in Ukraine under a false flag. The department notes that the Kremlin is likely accusing the Armed Forces of Ukraine of allegedly planning such an attack in order to stage the “discovery” of biological weapons in Ukraine.
