The military notes that the Russian troops deliberately damaged the car before leaving it. Volunteers helped to restore the “Tiger”.
Soldiers of the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great showed off the captured armored car “Tiger”, which was repainted in the Ukrainian “Pixel” camouflage. This was reported by the press service of the brigade.
The Ukrainian military received a Russian armored car in poor condition, but now they have been able to restore it. It is stated that the repair was difficult, as the RF Armed Forces tried to make sure that the car could not be restored.
Trophy “Tiger”
“The skilful hands of the brothers, their technical talent and spare parts, with which the volunteers helped, made a miracle,” the 14th brigade of the estate of Prince Roman the Great notes.
As noted in the brigade, now the vehicle is successfully serving the Ukrainian military and performing its tasks.
The soldiers of the 14th brigade were able to restore the armored car “Tiger”
Armored car “Tiger” was developed by the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant. This is a multi-purpose off-road vehicle, which has been in service with the Russian Federation since 2005. The machine has protection of the 3rd class – protection against armor-piercing bullets of 7.62 caliber at a distance of 5-10 meters. However, there are modifications with more powerful protection and a 30-mm cannon on board.
According to the Oryx project, Russian troops have lost 144 Tigr and Tigr-M armored vehicles since February 24, 2022, of which 40 became trophies for the Ukrainian army. The list of losses includes only the equipment that was in the photo or video, so the authors emphasize that their list does not give a complete picture.
Recall that on February 14, soldiers of the 95th brigade showed the captured self-propelled guns “Msta-S”, which they called “Odin”.
On March 8, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed the Ukrainian Novator armored car, which came under mortar fire, but saved the lives of the crew.
