The other day, Saratov motorists suffered a lot of fear: the driver of a trawl carrying road construction equipment touched the contact network above the road – these are the wires that are used for the movement of trolleybuses.
Judging by the published video, the wires caught on a road milling machine standing on the trawl. Moreover, they caught on several times in a row – the driver of the catastrophe taking place above him did not notice for quite a long time.
The passenger car that was driving behind the trawl suffered more than the others – the video was filmed by its DVR, and therefore we can observe this collision “from the first person”.

The heavy power cable hit the hood and roof, miraculously avoiding breaking the windshield. The truck, meanwhile, continued to tear the network on both sides of the street – the wires fell on the asphalt and sparkled, virtually paralyzing traffic.
So far, there are two versions of the causes of the trouble: either the sagging wires were not serviced on time and returned to the proper height according to GOST, or the driver exceeded the allowable size. Separately, the question of whether he had permission to move through the area with the contact network is to be studied. As far as is known, there were no casualties in the incident.
