Environmental requirements in Europe are getting tougher every year. This is what makes European automakers reduce the lineup of urban compacts. They seek to reduce the cost of developing new generations in connection with the forthcoming introduction of the Euro-7 environmental standard.
In 2022, the compact small car segment was almost halved from its peak sales in 2017, when 1.2 million microcars were sold in the European market.
