The representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko called the agreement between the head of the executive committee of the Vitebsk region of Belarus Alexander Subbotin and the occupiers from Crimea null and void.
The head of the executive committee of the Vitebsk region of Belarus Alexander Subbotin signed an agreement on cooperation with the authorities of the occupied Crimea. This was reported in RosSMI.
An agreement between the occupying authorities of Crimea and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee of Belarus on trade and economic cooperation was signed live on March 7. During the teleconference, the head of the Belarusian executive committee, Alexander Subbotin, announced his desire to strengthen relations between the regions.
Ukraine’s reaction
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reacted to the agreement between the official of Belarus and the representative of the occupying authorities on cooperation between the Vitebsk region and Crimea. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that it violates the legislation of Ukraine. This is known from a post on social networks by the speaker of the ministry, Oleg Nikolenko.
“The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry initiates the procedure for imposing sanctions on Alexander Subbotin as a person who poses a threat to the national security of Ukraine. The Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk was also instructed to send a note of protest to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry,” Nikolenko said.
Recall, on March 9, Alexander Lukashenko signed the law on execution for high treason. First of all, this will affect officials and military personnel of the country. In addition, Belarus introduced criminal liability for promoting terrorism, discrediting the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and violating the requirements for the protection of state secrets.
Earlier, on March 8, the monitoring group “Belarusian Gayun” announced the arrival of new soldiers and trains with equipment of the Russian Federation in Belarus. 9 wagons with about 450 fighters and 79 wagons with military equipment moved along the Belarusian railway. Equipment was also carried in 8 covered wagons.
