The American Edwin Castro could have received the full amount, but it would have stretched over 30 annual payments. Therefore, the man chose another option, but after deducting all taxes, he got $ 997.6 million.
Last November, Edwin Castro bought a lottery ticket at a gas station in Altadena, and all the numbers chosen were winning. The man won $2 billion, which is the largest prize in US lottery history. It is reported by USA Today.
Castro used the first 2.5% of his winnings to buy a huge mansion in Los Angeles. A man purchased a home in the Hollywood Hills for $25.5 million, making it the most expensive real estate deal of 2023 and one of the most expensive in the area’s history.
Built by Roman James Design last year, the mansion sits on a hillside overlooking the Sunset Strip and Chateau Marmont.

Focus previously wrote that in the United States, a woman has won more than $750 million in the lottery. She purchased a winning ticket at a grocery store in the US and was shocked when she found out the winning amount.
It was also reported that in Canada, a family won a lottery jackpot but were unable to claim their prize because they were five days late in presenting their ticket. The organizers of the lottery failed to break the rules and give the prize to the winners.
