In his new address, the president called on citizens to keep the memory of the young Hero of Ukraine and thanked the military of the 67th brigade for their heroism.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in his official video message, paid tribute to the memory of the Hero of Ukraine “Da Vinci” Dmitry Kotsyubaylo, who died on March 7 during the hostilities in the Donbas.
“Da Vinci, Hero of Ukraine, volunteer, man-symbol, man-courage, died in battle today – Dmitry Kotsyubaylo. Fighter of the 67th separate mechanized brigade, battalion commander. Killed in battle near Bakhmut, in battle for Ukraine,” — the president reports.
Dmitry was one of the youngest heroes of Ukraine, who since 2014 has defended Ukrainian independence and the dignity of the people of Ukraine.

“He was one of those whose personal history, character, courage forever became the history, character and courage of Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
The President stressed that Ukrainian heroes have been fighting for more than 9 years in fierce battles to preserve the future of Ukraine. Tranquility and relative security in the rear cities is their feat. The general confidence in the victory of Ukraine is their resilience and strength.
“67th brigade, warriors, glory to your courage! All Ukrainians who fight for Bakhmut, glory to your heroism! Thanks to all the soldiers whose steadfastness and perseverance destroy the occupying army in Donbas! Eternal memory to all who gave their lives for Ukraine!” Zelensky in circulation.
In 2021, Dmitry Kotsyubaylo received the highest state award – the title of Hero of Ukraine.
Recall that the tragic death of the Ukrainian Hero became known on March 7 from human rights activist Masi Nayem. The cause of death was a shrapnel wound to the neck.
On January 27, it became known about the death of the Belarusian volunteer Eduard Lobov, who had been fighting on the side of Ukraine since 2015.
