Enemy forces are actively shelling the strongholds of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk region. However, the Ukrainian border guards manage to destroy the enemy’s manpower and military equipment.
Ukrainian border guards keep the defense in all directions. In the Luhansk region, units of the State Border Service won a mortar duel against the invaders, and in the Donetsk region they repulsed an assault attempt. On Sunday, March 5, the press service of the State Border Guard Service writes.
“The defense forces of Ukraine, including border guards, are destroying the weapons and manpower of the Russian-occupation forces in the confrontation on the eastern front,” the press release says.
As specified, Russian troops are actively shelling strongholds of units of the State Border Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk region. An air strike was carried out on the Ukrainian line of defense.
The situation on the approaches to Bakhmut remains stably difficult. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian border guards managed to repel an attempt to storm the city. The enemy infantry was unable to overcome the zone of continuous fire damage. The losses of the Russian side are now specified.
In addition, the Ukrainian border guards won a mortar duel against the enemy in the Lugansk region. The mortar crew of the RF Armed Forces set up a position near the forest belt and hit the Ukrainian side. However, aerial reconnaissance was able to determine the coordinates of the position of the invaders. As a result, the Ukrainian fighters destroyed the mortar itself and four servicemen serving it.
Recall that on March 4, the ex-commander of the Azov regiment, Maxim Zhorin, spoke about the situation in the Bakhmut direction. According to him, the Russian military command is making huge sacrifices just to take the city of Bakhmut.
Sergei Cherevaty, spokesman for the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, also said on March 4 that the capture of Bakhmut remains a priority for Russian troops. However, the experience of the Armed Forces makes it possible to rebuild the defense and continue resistance, despite the fact that the RF Armed Forces are destroying bridges in the city area.
