According to Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, the cause of the crash of the plane with the top leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on board continues. Its results will be published in the near future.
France has completed the decoding of “black boxes” from a helicopter that crashed in Brovary on board with the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior. His materials have already been handed over for investigation. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this at a press conference.
According to him, the investigation of the tragedy is ongoing and its result should be awaited.
“The black box was found, it was sent to France for appropriate decoding. The data was received, the investigation has them. The investigation continues, just like you, I want to wait for the results and see reasoned answers to a number of questions,” he said.
The head of government noted that at the moment there is no public information regarding the causes of the helicopter crash. However, in his opinion, they will be made public in the near future.
Shmyhal added that all the “black boxes” were kept in good condition, and the investigators are working on the details.
“Indeed, a lot of work has already been done, that is, very clear results of the technical condition of the helicopter, there are all materials from the black box, they are preserved, of high quality. That is, the investigation is already working on the details and I think that we will get the result in the near future,” summed up the prime minister .
Tragedy in Brovary: what is known?
On the morning of January 18, the State Emergency Service helicopter with the top leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on board crashed in Brovary. As a result, 18 people were killed, among them – Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky, First Deputy Interior Minister Yevgeny Yenin, State Secretary of the Interior Ministry Yuri Lubkovich. They were supposed to fly to the front to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the new head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yuri Klimenko, the helicopter crash in a residential area is the result of the war. According to him, leaders at all levels often take risks by visiting the front line to get acquainted with the situation.
On February 6, Klymenko said that the investigation into the cause of the tragedy could be completed within two months. He also added that after that the security system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was revised. Leaders cannot yet travel by helicopter, they are only allowed to travel by car.
