The researchers used a small camera to explore a room where no human foot had yet set foot. The results showed that the Pyramids of Giza still hide the unknown.
Archaeologists have finally been able to confirm that there is a secret chamber under the north side of the Pyramid of Cheops. It was discovered by scanning muon radiography with cosmic rays and using an endoscopic camera. And this amazing find once again confirms that the largest and oldest of all the Pyramids of Giza can still tell its secrets, writes Express.

Geophysicist and professor at the Technical University of Munich, Christian Grosse, said: “The fact that we found a room in a pyramid is something incredible. But the fact that it is large enough to accommodate several people makes it even more mysterious and important.”
The room is about 2.1 m wide and 9.1 m long, which is somewhat larger than previously thought based on scan results. The researchers theorize that it is necessary to reduce the pressure from the chambers below.
The same rooms can be found above the burial chamber of King Khufu, and also in the pyramid at Meidum, an Egyptian pyramid located on the road to Faiyum, about 100 km south of Cairo.

If we take into account the likely purpose of the premises, as well as the absence of any traces and signs of activity, then not a single human foot has set foot inside for 4.5 thousand years.
According to Mustafa Vaziri, secretary general of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, researchers have suspected the existence of this room since 1962.
Above the entrance to the pyramid are laid out stones in the form of a hexagon. This technology is used to improve the strength of the structure and its stability in rooms where there are ceilings. This for its part gave hints of the existence of another hidden room here.

Professor Grosse added: “The pyramids are a World Heritage Site. Therefore, we must examine the pyramid very carefully and carefully so as not to make any mistakes. This is why we work using radar and ultrasonic measuring instruments that do not cause harm and destruction, and sometimes not even direct contacts with the building are needed.”

After the team was able to find the room, the researchers set up an endoscopic camera between the stones from the outside. Once inside the pyramid, she found herself in an empty hidden room. This, for its part, allowed archaeologists to look at it from the inside.
However, the study of the ancient pyramid did not stop there. According to archaeologists, they still have to accurately determine the purpose of the found premises, as well as discover what is behind its back wall. And for this they will use new research methods and technologies.
