In the war zone, evacuation groups are constantly working, which take out local residents to safe places. They are all provided with armored vehicles.
Fewer than 40 Ukrainian children remain in the city of Bakhmut, where active hostilities continue daily, but the police will continue to evacuate them. This is stated in the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Donetsk region.
“In the Donetsk region, the planned evacuation of residents from the areas of hostilities continues. The police are working out the Bakhmut community, where the situation is the most acute,” the report says.
In total, about 40 small children remain in the battle-torn city in the Donetsk region, who will soon be tried to be taken to a safer place. Also, active evacuation by law enforcement officers is taking place in the area of Seversk, Chasov Yar and Zvanovka.
“There are 8 evacuation groups that are provided with armored vehicles. We check all the addresses where children can be, as well as basements and semi-basements where people can hide from shelling,” said Ruslan Osipenko, head of the Donetsk region police.
In order to start the evacuation of the family, the security forces will first have to find them, because people in Bakhmut and other settlements affected by active hostilities leave their destroyed houses and hide in the nearest shelters. Over the past two weeks, police have taken at least 70 children to a safer location.
Recall that on March 2, British intelligence noted that off-road and thaw give an advantage to the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Bakhmut. According to the agency, the weather is on the side of the Ukrainian defenders. Due to warming, the movement of heavy equipment of the occupiers over rough terrain is greatly complicated.
On March 1, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Kravtsov said that the defense of Bakhmut has military meaning. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding the city in order to exhaust the enemy and wait for new weapons.
